BREAKING NEWS: Ganz Changes KinzStyle Bag Programming

Thank you to Webkinz World member catsinparadise for calling our attention to an important change in the KinzStyle Bag programming. As many of you know, to visit the KinzStyle Shop in Webkinz World you must first enter a feature code from one of the plushie clothing items. That feature code gives you a KinzStyle Shop Shopping Bag, which, when you drag it into your room, opens the KinzStyle Shop. Each time you drag the bag into your room you have the option of purchase one of eighteen different items of clothing that cannot be purchased in the regular wShop. If you don’t see an item of clothing you want to purchase you can exit out of the shop, and the bag will return to your dock.

Until recently, you could exit out of the Shop and go back into the Shop in the same visit to Webkinz World, and the items in the shop would change. With nearly 100 different items of clothing in the Shop, you might have to go in and out several times to find the item of clothing you wanted to purchase. Now the programming of the bag has been changed. If you want to look at different items for sale, you have to exit out of the shop, log out of Webkinz World, log back into Webkinz World, go to your Room, and open the Shop again. If you don’t log out of Webkinz World between visits to the Shop, you will see the same eighteen items each time you drag the bag into your room. Logging out of Webkinz World seems to be the only way to get the Shop to reset.

BLOOPER NEWZ: Theater Bed Columns

Thank you to Webkinz World member jagular for calling our attention to an interesting characteristic of the brand new Theater Bed: the columns change depending on which way the bed is turned. As you can see from the pictures taken by WW member EXOTERIC, in three of the views the columns have ridges. In the fourth view, shown in the bottom-right, the columns look like smooth marble. At this point we are not certain if this is a glitch or if this is the way Ganz intends the graphic to be, but many members have expressed that they are happy the bed has two “decorating options”.

Ganz has revealed that they are releasing three Webkinz and one Lil Kinz Webkinz for Apirl 2009. They are the Webkinz White Swan, Webkinz Ring-Tailed Lemur, Webkinz Boston Terrier, and Lil Kinz Polka Back Fish.

Thank you to our friends at Ganz we can now report to you that the Pet of the Month for April 2009 is the Webkinz (large) Alley Cat and the Pet of the Month for May 2009 is the Webkinz (large) Cocker Spaniel.

BREAKING NEWS: Ganz Introduces “Signature Pets”

Ganz has announced that they are introducing a new line of “life-like” Signature Pets. The first plushie in this new series will be the “Signature Panda”, which is expected to be for sale in stores starting in April 2009. As soon as more information about these new plushies becomes available, we will let you know.

UPDATE: The new “Signature Panda” is expected to be priced at $25 to $30 each (US dollars). They are limited only being able to order six (this number has been changed to twelve) plushies total at a time. We also have more information on what the feature code that comes with the Signature Panda will unlock in Webkinz World:

BREAKING NEWS: Ganz Announces New Product, “Kinz Klips”

Ganz has announced that they are releasing a new Webkinz product called “Kinz Klips“. These smaller versions of regular Webkinz plushies will come with clips attached to their heads so they can be hooked to things. There is no word yet on what the feature codes for these items will do. Also, Ganz has hinted at a new product line called “Caring Valley Webkinz pets”. As more information becomes available we will bring it to you.

We have confirmed that there will be six different types of “Kinz Klips”: Monkey, Panda, Whimsy Dragon, Kangaroo, Penguin, and Chihuahua. The “Klips” should retail for $5 to $6 each (US dollars). Also, here is a closer view of the card at the top of the display. We can now clearly see that the feature codes will unlock “the magic of Zumwhere in Webkinz World”. There is no word yet on what the “Zumwhere” feature is going to be.

BREAKING NEWS: More Information on “Caring Valley” Webkinz

Thank you to our friends at GANZ we can now bring you a little bit more information on Ganz’ “Caring Valley” Webkinz. It appears that Ganz is opening up a new feature in Webkinz World called the “Caring Valley” in which players will be able to “Plant Virtual Saplings & Learn About Giving”. This new project is associated with the “Webkinz Foundation”, a Ganz Charity which donates “funds to programs that benefit children”.

UPDATE: We now have more information on these “Caring Valley” Webkinz:

They will be “large” Webkinz (not Lil Kinz)
The feature code will unlock a special area called the “Caring Valley”
The feature code will award the member four virtual saplings that can be planted in the Valley.
The feature code will also award one “Enchanted Tree” exclusive item.

MY PAGE NEWS: No Bird Badge for Hummingbird Owners?

Several of our members who have Hummingbirds on their accounts have noticed an interesting glitch with the Badge feature on My Page. The programming that determines whether or not an account should have the “Friend of Fowl” badge doesn’t appear to be recognizing the Hummingbird as a bird. Accounts that have a Hummingbird, and do not have any other birds, do not have the Bird Badge as an option on their My Pages.

UPDATE: We have received reports that the same thing is happening with the Toucan and Phoenix.

Webkinz Newz Sneak Peeks Mystical Panda and Phoenix

For weeks now people have been asking for pictures of the Mystical Panda. Today, Webkinz Newz provided a glance of this upcoming rare pet which will be available in packs of Series 4 Trading Cards. The cards are expected to be available in stores in March 2009.

Here is a look at the Mystical Panda along with its PSI, the Sun’s Embrace Bed and its PSF, Star Shimmers.

Here you can see Kandy Baby playing on the Cotton Candy Bunny’s Pet Specific Item, the Suddenly Spring Trampoline. The Pet Special Food for the Cotton Candy Bunny is Carnival Candy Carrots. The Cotton Candy Bunny, like the Duck and the Lamb, is a Seasonal Webkinz for Spring 2009.
